Saturday 💛 Vibes

Good Morning!

Today’s a new day.

What brings your heart joy right now?

To whom would you show gratitude?

This morning, my daughter and I fed the birds and squirrels. I was excited to see birds actually paying us a visit.

After we came back inside the warmth, we did a  step by step instructions of how to make toast. She’s easily flustered, and lots of information at once doesn’t work. She did well, and I’m thankful that we did it together.

I’m not sure whats in store for today; but I’m determined to feel good. Later, I’m thinking pancakes 😁

Muslims in CLE, OH 🕉

I can’t explain how proud I am to be a Clevelander! This local mosque has opened it’s doors to our community. Mental Health especially, is an area of which service is provided. The Muslims said they’re also simply trying to bridge the gap within the different faiths!

We can’t judge a whole group by the actions of a few. Happy Sunday ~

#98 Weekend Writing Prompt: Impervious

This is being formulated for Sammi Cox’s Weekend Writing Prompt Challenge. You can read more about it HERE =]

The couple chattered merrily down a chilly London street. They’re newly weds, and the honeymoon phases was radiating from their smiles.

Two blocks from their favorite Cafè, they passed a small boy shivering under an old ragged tarp.

” Oh look John, that young man needs help. He’s at least needing an impervious shelter to keep dry.!” Natalia empathized.

” Hello! What’s your name?” She inquired before John could caution her.

” Toby, ma’am.” the frightened boy murmured.

” Well Toby, I’m Natalia. Would you like to come with us so we can get you some basic needs?”

He, thankfully, took her hand.

Saturday Night

Kindness makes all the difference. Be that which you wish to see in this world 🌸

Today, Zivah and I put together these bags for our community. We’ll place them in the free little libraries so that whomever needs can privately do so. 😀 We were able to make 18 bags. Many included items are juice box, raisens, pen and writing pad, tea, hand wipes, tissues, and lotion. There’s additional items I didn’t list. I know some days, it’d be great to know where I could grab some lotion if I really needed it.

Thursday Thought (republished)

Good Morning Readers 😀

I intentionally advocate on the subject of mental health and all it encompassess (usually referencing my own life!).

Because life doesn’t stop, and our mental health seems to be lacking value to most of this world, I’m here to help break down that stigma.

This morning, I discovered a particular blogger who obviously is hurting. When I finished reading the posts, I searched for the right words to use in a response. I never wish to patronize and undervalued the individual’s emotions in that given moment. What I hope to do, is to meet the individual where he or she is… Take their hand, and say,

” Every single heart deserves to believe their truth. The hardest part is figuring out what that is because this chaotic world we live in is full of brokenness and lies. No living thing is created exactly the same as any of its kind, that came before it, since, or will in the future.”

.

.

That’s what I did this morning. I try to show the light of hope in all places consumed by darkness, not to build myself up or appear bragging. I genuinely understand the struggles of a tortured mind, hurting heart, and broken spirit.

Finally, then, my morning greeting to you is this: I hope you’re doing better today, than you were yesterday. Your eyes are open; therefore, you remember that you’ve been given this day for a purpose. I hope you feel this necessary and joyous love for yourself because you deserve it. There’s no one else like you. That makes you extraordinary ~

Please tag each post #NDRW

Concept: To write everything and anything that comes to mind about the Daily Random Word.

It can be incomplete thoughts listed, a short story, a personal story, personal reflection, memories, whatever you want it to be. The idea is to get everything out. Once you’ve done that, you can return to these posts and use the ideas in your writing.

#3. Your day in ten words.

Blessed, Thursday, Cleveland, Midnight, Early, January, Enriched, Calm, Quite, Peaceful

It’s early here (12:02 am), so those of you East of the US, how’s your day going?

Later on, I’d love to hear from my mid-West American readers!

#commentbelow 10 words to describe your day

Love is Love, no matter which way you say it💚

How we recognize love influences our relationships. There’s five different love languages, and each one is ok. The common denominator is that they all say the same: I love you in ways other than using those words.

Taken from Thought Catalog, here are fifty alternatives for I love you. May these help you recognize love in all it’s forms.

1. “Do you want to wear my coat?”

2. “How was your exam?”

3. Checking in when they have the flu.

4.”Would you like anything from the store?”

5. “How did you sleep last night?”

6. Surprising them with their favorite candy.

7. “Don’t forget to bring your umbrella—it’s supposed to rain.”

8. “I saw this and thought of you.”

9. “Your hair looks great like that.”

10. Reminding them that their hard work doesn’t go unnoticed.

11. Sharing your favorite food.

12. Letting them have the front seat.

13. Putting two sugars in their coffee even when they say they want one because you know they like it better that way.

14. “I’m proud of you.”

15. “Listen to this song I heard—it reminded me of you.”

16. Sending a funny picture you saw online.

17. Washing their dishes even when they don’t ask you

18. “How is your family?”

19. Having Gatorade ready the morning after a rough night out.

20. “There’s traffic on the highway; take the back road.”

21. “Tell your mom I say hi.”

22. Listening to their music even when you don’t like it.

23. Bringing breakfast in bed.

24. Putting on the kettle before they even ask for tea.

25. Sharing relevant news articles with them because you know they’d be interested.

26. Helping them study for a test.

27. Going to their big game.

28. Bringing an extra water bottle when you know they’ll be in the sun.

29. “Do you need any help with that?”

30. Waiting up for them to get home.

31. “How was your day?”

32. “You should take a break—you work too hard.”

33. Taking the long way home so you both can keep talking.

34. “Good luck on your interview.”

35. Greeting them at the airport.

36. Stopping by just because.

37. Giving up your seat on the bus so they can sit.

38. Letting them go in front of you in line.

39. “You look like you could use a hug.”

40. Bringing them lunch at work.

41. “I really want your opinion on something.”

42. “You were right.”

43. “You can pick the movie tonight.”

44. Sharing your bed.

45. Holding their hair or rubbing their back if they are sick.

46. Helping them write a paper.

47. Standing up for them if someone says something mean.

48. Letting them have the window seat on the train.

49. “You can have the last slice.”

50. “Call me when you get home.”

Couple more;) Both photos taken from Pinterest.

Village of Everwood

I would walk a hundred miles to see these gorgeous snow capped mountains. They are mesmerizing in the winter. Every December, they appear iridescent from the village colored lights below. The town is called Everwood. It’s only a population of twelve thousand people. Though small, it’s a wonderfully supportive and close knit community.

” Everything looks magnificent! “, I thought to myself.  This place holds an aura that’s extra inviting, twice as romantic, and just a place for families to gather. Down in town, residence stroll merrily along the  trail, snapping pictures and trying all the samples from the shops.

The huge store windows were slightly  covered with drifting snow. Wreaths of holly leaves and berries hung in the center. In the ledge of bigger store windows sat those old fashioned candle with the holders. Images of children running around and mothers hovering to keep kids safe were around every corner.

Mr Phillips owned the town Quick N’ Shop. He’s the fifth generation in his family to manage the grocery store. Just last December, his aged 96 year old father caught pneumonia and passed. It was the dark cloud that fell over the hot,I day season. This year, in his father’s memory, Mr Phillip is handing out hot chocolate with  an assortment of muffins. That’s how the people here lived, doing the best they can with what they have.

Gift of yourself 🎄

Hear is love for you:

Love Yourself so that you RECOGNIZE alone isn’t LONELY

You are OK… being alone with your badass self!

You are OK being at home, on your day off, decorating for Christmas, catching up on that book list you’ve been wanting to read, watching the makeup tutorials or moving around your place.

Recognize alone means you are doing life for you! You’re OK with quiet, you’re OK with your thoughts, who you are, comfortable with just as things are…

Being alone means you are single… Putting yourself first… Embracing your talents and interests, investing and promising to yourself. You are nurturing and guiding yourself to a higher self.

You decide your looks. You decide your morals and believes… All that does and /or doesn’t matter. You create your life, who you are. No one lives your life ; no one else is going to walk your steps… No one else will deal with your consequences. Your life is YOURS!

That’s the beginning of being comfortable, whether you’re with someone or not. That’s the beginning of the journey, because it’s you coming to know who you are. As you continue to travel that road, you realize that power of choice.

The rest of us don’t need to know, you are not in need of our validating… You only need one… YOURS! You first must embrace your confidence within yourself, for your life.

NOW…..

Being lonely is an Emptiness… It has absolutely NOTHING to do with relationship status. There are celebrities that are the loneliest. They’re committing suicide because money isn’t satisfying the human need of “purpose”. Loneliness is a character trait, alone is a status.

When you’re lonely, something is missing… And you’re always trying to fill that void with something temporary.

Being lonely means you feel a need… But, hear this, that need is ONLY what’s within yourself. You will NEVER fill that need from an external source. You were created an original, from a blueprint created by The Most High… Stitched together is a beautiful collection of strengths and flaws, attributes and blessings, thoughts, talents, and stories that only you can give.

The life of loneliness is confusion and ashamed of self, astranged peace of mind, Munipulation, brokeness, judgements and bitterness…. Loneliness is a mental place…

And it’s your place… Unless you choose to redecorate.

This is someone’s reality…

See how different it is from yours?

And mine, my heart feels so much,

My grief for this man, and his precious Avi is unconsolable!

In such a moment, when he needed those he NEVER thought would let him down…. They did…

And he simply behaved like a parent…

Trying to calm his anxious squirming daughter.

Kindness matters because we don’t know what others are going through. Kindness matters because we’re all human…

And life takes us through storms…

They’re manageable when we’re not facing additional hatred and evil… When we’re not walking them alone.

Affirmative 🌺 #5

Preset: Stand up tall. Place yourself infront of a mirror. Repeat after me.

” I am no longer going to live in fear, speak negatively about myself and others, blame myself for past mistakes, downplay my abilities and talents, cheat myself, lie to myself, live in denial, and feel guilty for things that are not my fault. I will not procrastinate, worry about things I have no control over, and suffocate my feelings and emotions. I will not put roadblocks in my path, make excuses, put myself down, fail to try, allow others to decide for me, lack accountability, and spew negativity out into the vibration of energy connected to my life. I will not sit in pity, expect nothing to change, and blame others for my choices. Instead, I am going to love myself, first! I’m going to give myself unconditional love, mercy, grace, and respect … Because I deserve it. ”

From a child, to a grown “man”….

His life has been a fusion of diverse expierences.

A story of bumpy roads, secure places, some

questionable choices. But they were his.

Early on, he owned his life.. He decided what it’d be…

With a willingness to follow his Almighty,

In obedience and faith, authentically with love and mercy.

He wasn’t a King, in a big castle, not the owner of a

Lamborghini, He wore simple style and drove with

practicality. Time took him to a chapel, and to a sweet hospital nursery,

Forced him to face truth, death, and suffering.

He’s seen hate, unexpected seizure, and secession of soldiers in war.

He’s seen the most horrid shifts in the major corporate industry,

And shades of every color,  brushed effortlessly into lives that crossed paths with his.

His story’s is like all the others, far from perfect, flawless, or

Finished.

This man was born to a Jewish woman…. To a German man…

He was born unable to hear well, though that allowed for imaginative

Internal dialogs. His childhood allowed for him to see new places,

To explore that which was in his immediate surroundings.

He traveled to the assisted living residence, the library, and animal

Shelter. He volunteerd at the Homeless Shelter soup kitchen; and occasionally

Visited the halfway house. He spent endless time in observation, a powerful

And undervalued talent of most.

Throughout his life, the spice he’s always craved, the true

meaning in his pages, has been this uncanny acceptance

of what is…

He has spent his life embracing the acceptance of what’s

different, respecting that this spice is simply the truths,

That varies from one to the next.  He hasn’t been granted

authority to conceptualize and label the thoughts of  those

who disagree.

He understands his life as reality, seeking to continuously

grow and enrich it further. In doing so, kindness and

compassion has lead him to unimaginable moments.

These have always been his greatest treasure.
