Timeless Discovery

This post is being created for Mindlovemisery’s Sunday Writing Prompt.

Donavon has always been the quiet and stand off(ish) kid in the neighborhood. When he was a few months into his fourth year, his parents took him to a specialized doctor, in hopes of ” finding a cure.” Don’t misunderstand, they’ve always dearly loved and accepted their precious boy, though predisposed to a lifetime of teasing, mockery, and bullying. They just decided to try harder; to help Donny feel a bit more ” normal”.

He had selective mutism. There’s situations when he simply can not speak, though (without awareness of his condition) it could bring serious consequences.

Now, aged five years, Donny has adapted to his new normal. He has a few buddies, goes fishing and hiking, creates art from Arizona’s famous red dirt. His most favorite pastime is exploring. There’s many overgrown areas of the west that history left behind. Covina, his best friend, would read to him, the old books and newspapers they’d find in the dilapidated saloon.

On a particular windy and overcast Thursday, the boys were trucking down the dusty path, as they did every day. They were discussing the idea of dissecting a frog, without omitting any possible disgusting detail. In the middle of a sentence, Covina heard a sudden, yet brief, shuffle in the brushes. It was to obvious to have been a small creature. On the other hand, there aren’t other humans around this part of the path either.

Curiosity won that brief moment; and the two boys changed course. Initially, the shuffle sounded as if in arms length. Had it been a creature, such could have effortlessly reached out and bit one of them. With no such luck; however, they searched and searched for what it is they heard. Nothing!

Suddenly, roughly forty yards to the west, they heard it again. The boys wasted no time scurrying to the left of their searched path and continued for three miles.

The stone path seemed to have appeared out of nowhere. It didn’t look familiar to either of the two; but, that didn’t matter. The path lead right up to an odd, unground, and shabby hobbit house.

Neither of the boys knew this place was here. They’ve never heard any adults talking about it either. Slowly and cautiously, Donny inched closer to the door. He had picked up the thickest stick nearby, and prepared himself for war. There, six inches from the stone wall laid something deep brown and medium in size. He couldn’t tell what it was, so he reached down to pick it up.

Covina slowly made his way over to Donny and stared.

“ How peculiar!” He voiced, starling Donny.

Donny’s facial expression was in agreement.

They walked over to the stone wall and sat. Opening the front cover, they saw a ticket. Train Ticket $7, Destination Unknown it read.

Covina turned the page,

” The train pulled into the station promptly at 7:07 pm…”

He clumped a small section of pages together and flipped to page 24.

” The train pulled into the station promptly at 7:07 pm…”

Again on page 36, 49, 73, and 104. The stories began the same but always ended differently from the journey before. The rest of the night, the two boys sat deep in the seclusion, reliving the tales recorded in this book.

“Maybe we should find this train station????” Covina asked Donavon.

Donny had that look in his eye and said, ” Vamos!”

New Awards

As much as I appreciate the times I’ve been nominated, usually, I didn’t fully understand what exactly the award was about… And they’re the same ones over and over and over.

I can’t handle that. Variety is the spice of life. In my case, the spice to my coffee. I’ve created two new awards, and I’ll be creating a few more in the following days ahead.

The 1st is the Leadership Blogger Award: this was created to nominate 1-2 individuals who have exemplified noticeable and noteworthy leadership. That could be in any way.

1. The first nominee to EVER recieve such an award is, Ashleyleia, @ Mental Health at Home!!

2. My second nominee for this award is, Beckie @ BeckiesMentalMess💫

🌸🌼🌸🌼Congratulations Ladies 🌸🌼🌸🌼

There’s no questions or need to thank me. I also don’t require you to nominate others, although I think it would be a kind gesture. 🙂

Award #2 is the Out -of -this -World Blogger Award: this award is to recognize the bloggers that you feel go above and beyond in writing, as a person, with their niche, in whatever way. This individual is usually a regular poster, and assists others.

1. The very first recipient of this award is Sadje, @ Keep It Alive. She’s been one of my ultimate supporters since my early early days. I appreciate you more than you’ll ever realize lady.

2. The second incredible blogger deserving of this award is John, @ The Eclectic Contrarian. He’s consistently coated my posts with love, support, and laughs. He’s checked in on me and has been wonderful.

💖💚💖💚Congratulations Bloggers 💚💖💚💖

There’s no questions or need to thank me. I also don’t require you to nominate others, although I think it would be a kind gesture. 🙂

That’s it for now. Keep an eye out, few more are coming!! Thanks for being awesome y’all!

Monday Greetings

I hope you all had a good weekend. I actually had a pretty good one, all things considered.

Saturday night I went to bed at 9:15, got up about three for snack, and went back to sleep until 8:15. I can’t remember the last time I slept all like that.

Today, I got a few things accomplished and really tackled my kitchen. Decluttering ALWAYS feels good. My dishes are about done, yeah it feels nice.

Other than that, it’s been a chill weekend. To hot and tired to do much else.

Good Morning y’all.

One Word Sunday: Simplicity

Evelyn’s job required her to travel. In the hustle and chaos of packing, unpacking, checking in and out, the airport times and airplane tight seating, her anxiety was a frequent companion. She’s gotten better with managing it all, thanks to Dr Hopkin’s prescription.

Occasionally, though, she’d be due to land in an area such as Pabneukirchen, Austria. Such a place was wonderfully welcoming, with it’s townspeople kind and friendly. The rolling hills and slow placed living helped Evelyn calm her spirit. She always yearned for the reminder of life’s simplicity. Her breathing returned to normal; and, she felt such relief.

Pre-Pride Disclaimer

So, June is Pride Month! Speaking for myself, my sexuality is and always has been “not straight”! It doesn’t matter which it is, that’s not anyone’s business but mine.

Humans feel this need to judge what we don’t understand. (Oddly, the government is the least we judge but rather trust, and we don’t understand… Topic for another day.) My blog is a “safe place.” It’s for everyone. There won’t be any passive aggressive shit or fighting going on.

I am proud of who I am. I have been this way since I was born. I didn’t wake up one day, or expierence something (some idiotic theory’s going around that the majority of homosexuals have been sexually assaulted or abused, which caused a transformation.) that just “turned me” this way.

To all of you who question that, let me say this… it’s OUR life… our reality!! We had to accept this socially unacceptable life… as our truth. We had to step out knowingly how rejected and condemned we’ll be, and begin to live our true selves. If you think we CHOSE this life, as difficult as it is, then you really don’t understand.

My profile will support MY IDENTITY during pride month. If you don’t feel mature enough to “appreciate our differences” , then I invite you to unfollow me now.

I Got You

I see you

When you’re smile like there’s nothing wrong.

I hear you

When you’re laughing, and saying ” I’m alright”.

I see you

When you’re out with friends and the talk of the table.

I hear you

When you close your eyes; and your dreams speak.

Between the lines that others read,

Is a story all of it’s own.

It’s not hidden, it’s just unrecognizable to most.

But I see it; and I hear it.

It’s not comfortable, it’s distributing to say the least.

But I’ve seen it, and I’ve heard it before…

Because I’ve been there.

I was you.

Thursday Thankfulness

I’m thankful for

The warmth of today’s weather.

Many of you here, my support system.

My vehicle is now running.

Seeing both my babies tonight.

Listening to them laughing about silliness.

My Mental Health Journey 12 ( I Just Can’t & You Can’t Expect Me To)

Here’s my confession:

If a post is a personal story, informational about a topic I’m interested in, fictional, humorous, music related, short in length, or labeled with a really catchy title, I’ll end up reading it in it’s entirety.

Otherwise, and I may have missed an additional exception or two, I will skim through and catch the main ideas, so I can comment and leave support.

If that offends you, please unfollow me now.

Now that those lose feathers have been shaken off, allow me to explain.

I PROMISE you, I WANT to read every single word of every single post every single one of you have, and will write!!

Truth be told, I can’t. Number one, I don’t have the time. My two babies keep me busy. I’m a mother first, before anything else.

Number two, if I did so, I wouldn’t have a blog of my own. I wouldn’t have time to write. I love writing, and I’m loving interacting with all of you, as well.

Number three, my brain is so easily overwelmed that I can’t read a whole lot at once. When I worked at Bob Evens (hey that’s something you all didn’t know about me!), my biggest challenge was keeping up with the menu because of the amount of information I had to learn in such a short time. It was seasonally changing, too!

And number four, I am a multitasker. Every moment of my life, literally, I am doing at least 2 things. I have to. It’s just a must for my life.

I’ve recently had a follower take offense to this, and that hurt me. I’m one of the most supportive bloggers I know.. And that’s regardless of every factor other than we are all trying to accomplish the same goal… Write good material. This blogger wasn’t satisfied with my amount of effort and dismissed me completely.

Personally, I feel if you have such high levels of your followers, the intention of writing needs evaluated. I also prefer you don’t follow me in the first place…

We all do what we humanly can, and we’re our own worst critics. We don’t need expectations like read every post I write word for word, comment every single time, like and share it, on top of our own self sabotage.

That’s it for now.

My Mental Health Journey 11

I wanted to take a few minutes and jot down a few notes.

I’ve spent two days alone now; and, I’ve allowed a constant flow of emotions. No regrets or shame, no prolonged sadness. I’ve let the thoughts come and be, then released them out into the universe.

Recently, I found an image on Pinterest that really spoke to me.

It’s deep. I realized that before, like the last four weeks, things were falling apart. Ha! It’s more like a tornado came through.

But they’ll come together again, because that’s life. That’s how life happens. In the last week, ideas and dots have been connected. Some things have become clearer, and other things have been removed from priorities.

Life isn’t a race, to focus on the finish line (death? Really?), and go…

The race is a journey, at whatever pace best suits you and your current situation… And that pace will change. The journey is the combination of ups and downs, when life comes together and falls apart… And comes together again.

Without the balance… Up with down, good with the difficult… Hard with the easy… Life wouldn’t be…

Something would too much…

Something else, would be too little.

Trust your journey 💕 Walk by faith!

Who am I?

More than the words I write and the pictures you see. Here’s a glimpse into my depth, my layers.

1. If you had to sum up the internet in one word, what would it be?

– Artificial

2. If you could have an all-expenses paid trip to see any famous world monument, which monument would you choose?

I would have to say the “monument” would be Lady Diana’s final resting place. She’s a piece of my roots, and I felt such a huge loss when she died.

3. If you could go on a cross country road trip with famous person, dead or alive, who would it be?

Hands down, Melissa McCarthy! She’s hysterical and would be a riot on a road trip!

4. What is an activity that never looks cool?

Potato sack race 🤦🏼‍♀️ Just, why? Lol

5. What job doesn’t exist now but will in the future?

Professional battery changer! This world is slowly but surely being over run by self operated devices. Someone has to charge the dang things.

6. You’re locked in the mall overnight, what do you do first?

– Raid the food court, particularly the chocolate /ice cream shop lol.

7. Where is your favorite place to escape to?

– Anywhere there’s water! My soul refreshes so easily when I’m sitting by the wide and vastness of an endless body of water. I feel like I could sit on a pier and let my troubles drift away with the tide.

8. What’s something you do the non-fashioned, non -tech way?

– I paint!! I’m not an expert by any means, but I really enjoy it!

9. If you could give your children one talent, what would it be?

– I would give my daughters the talent of empathy. It walks hand in hand with kindness and compassion.

10. What’s one thing that makes my current relationship better than other relationships?

– The one I am in now is the last one I want. From the first time I met him, he was the one I wanted forever.. Where we’d fight but wouldn’t give up… Where we would piss each other off but we wouldn’t give up. What we have now is two people who refuse to walk away… So our option is to grow.

11. What’s the one skill I wish more people took the time to learn?

– This isn’t so much what people took time to learn, as it is to perfect: active listening! There’s far too many distractions in this world. We all need to get back to simplicity and actually listen to understand when every person is talking to us. We never know what the next moment holds, or who.

12. What one thing in life should always be free?

– Water should always be free. It’s the essential element that we humans need. To cook, clean, keep hydrated to work, to grow crop, to cool down in heat, to boil for coffee. Yup, it’s the one that should always be readily available and financially least restricting.

What’s your thoughts on any of these questions??

Word of the Day Challenge: Gaze

Subtle and quietly, she maneuvered through the

Market, searching for the perfect melon and freshest

Bundle of basil leaves.

Her father would scold her till hell froze over if he

knew; but she lived for the wrong doing adrenaline.

It gave her a sense of urgency to explore this great

Big world; all that’s beyond those stuffy castle walls.

As she weaved through the townspeople, she kept her

Eyes on the market stand she frequently visited.

His was by far the best of choices, for everything from

Fruit to herbs, flower seeds, to organic pastries. He

Was a dark and handsome man, roughly late 20s to

Mid 30s.

Though, she had a gaze that stopped em in their

Tracks, she has yet to accomplish the challenge

Of catching his attention. She’d gracefully step up to

The stand, and flash a warm and friendly smile.

As he did with every lady, he’d tip his hat with respect

And a returned welcome. She always anticipated the

butterflies that followed.

” How could this man have no idea? ” She thought

To herself.

She put down a melon that obviously wasn’t ready for

Purchasing and picked up another. Honeysuckle

Syrup poured over crepes, with a side of cantaloupe

Was her favorite breakfast. Her mother would

sprinkle a pinch of nutmeg over the entire plate. It

Was the perfect touch, but moms do that, add what’s

Needed to made everything just right.

She returned to the market scene when she felt a

warm touch upon her arm. She smiled sheepishly, that

Sweet and innocent smile men can’t resist. He stood so

Close, she could feel his body heat radiate from his

well defined figure.

” Sorry, I didn’t hear what you said.” She sympathized

He simply took the fruit from her hand and replaced it

With one from his crop. Politely, he tip his hat again as

If to say, It’s on me. Bidding you a great day.

She accepted with a returned wink and headed back

New life 💐🌼🌺🌸🌷🌹

New Life 💕

I love that metaphor about the flowers and blooming. Each one never compares itself to the one on either side, or close by. Each one just soaks up the sun, and the water, growing upward towards the light. Growing and growing by itself, from a tiny seed.

So much beauty comes from a tiny little seed. It’s amazing! The seed never doubts it’s ability, doesn’t stop in fear, doesn’t hide from possibilities. This living thing just grows, providing such a gift to earth, humans, and all that’s around.

There’s so much we can learn from that seedling. Being brave enough to live aside from what could go wrong. Soaking up light, allowing it to nurture our souls, and encourage us to share the beauty. It’s teaching us that we need not be concerned about comparison, it’s not anything useful for us. That seed teaches us to trust our roots, to let them push us upward and grow.

Bloom where you are planted 🌺🌻🌳🌸🌷🌼

I Dedicate…

This is being formulated for the One Word Prompt Challenge: dedicate! Photos have been taken from Pinterest.

🌼 I dedicate this post to every warrior who’s survived abuse: whether you’re a man, woman, gender fluent, survived emotional abuse, sexual, or physical. An individual who lives to tell their story of every, any, and all situations where he/she endured forced harm is beyond surviving. You are amazing, and you need to believe this about you. 🌸

Friday Fictioneers: 03/15/19

This is the weekly photo for Rochelle Wisoff-Fields’ Friday Fictioneers Challenge. Photo Credit is to Anshu Bhojnagarwala.

Evelyn’s family were immigrants to the US. It took the family six years, and their efforts to move mountains just to obtain passports.

Once they successfully made it, no thanks to the overlooked harassment at the border, they searched for funding to open a store.

Minority grants and immigrant funds were obtained, and the small town of Transford gained another business.

Less than two years post established, Evelyn caught meningitis. She hadn’t the immunizations and immune system to fight it off.

Her family couldn’t afford a plot, let alone a headstone. In her memory, they planted some of her favorite flowers in an old piano.

Here’s a suggestion fellow bloggers :

Diversify the format in which you present your material.

We have fans who can’t see. We have fans who are constantly traveling. We have fans that are preteen or pre-golden. We have fans that speak French, and ones who can’t read fine print. I believe if you accommodate to a bigger audience, your kindness will be returned tenfold.

That’s just my suggestion anyway 🙂

100 Word Wednesday

100Written for BikurGurl’s 100 Word Wednesday Challenge

Every year, on Memorial Day, Jimmy and his Uncle Frank went fishing. Frank was an Army Vet of 36 years, and fishing was always his chance for relaxation.

The men were carrying on, enjoying laughs, down old route 116, when they heard a sudden spine tingling scream. It was a woman’s voice, and she needed help!

Immediately, in the quick pull off, the two men hurdled out of the old station wagon. They practically fell on their faces trying to get to the area where she frightfully hung.

” Hello Ms, hold on!!” Jimmy shouted.” We’ll get you up here, safely.”

I Choose Now

” I choose to slow down enough to connect with the gift I’m given in this moment. ”

When I go through something tough, I’m always looking for the lesson. There’s so much change needed to become the best version of me, that I need to use every given opportunity. Today, this is that lesson.

I think back and frustratingly grieve my losses. I sit here and fight with whomever about everything that isn’t RIGHT NOW.

IF I’m never given another moment, I’d want you all to believe my words that I’m grateful for you. I’d give you a big hug and tell you life will change again, things can be better.

Right now, I’m exhausted from the fighting. My heart and soul goes into him… But, so few are worth it. Love isn’t pretty. Right now, my dishes need done. My girls rooms need picked up. I could use a shower…

But right now, I’m feeling thankful that he chose to continue fighting me. He wasn’t willing to block my number and dismiss me.

It’s 7:15… My favorite hour:) I’m sitting in my favorite chair, listening to the tick tock of two clocks, nearby. I’m listening to my girls laughing and playing in the other room.

Right now is a gift. I’m thankful.

The other lesson I learned is to not speak from a place of insecurity. I know I matter to him. I know that love is something special and takes time to develop.

I know what it feels like when we spend time together ; and nothing else is in our world at the moment.

Insecurity robs us of a peace of mind. It doesn’t have too, if we recognize it’s ugly stench.

I’m a work in progress.
