Today’s National Coming Out Day🏳🌈
I remember this point in my life. I remember where I was and who I was speaking too. The experience made me nervous. Thankfully, I didn’t have a huge list of family to “come out” too. I had a shorter list of opinions I even considered. That decision, though, changed my life forever.
It’s a moment that changes many lives. It’s a change much greater than most realize.
Coming out is self acceptance of his/her/their own truth. They struggled with accepting it. They hid it. They feared it. They probably hated it (therefore hated him/her/themselves) because of it. At the end of the day, it’s still truth.
Now, let me clarify something. One’s sexuality is not a choice! When and if they come out, IS THEIR choice. None of this involves anyone else.. ever.
Even if our society doesn’t understand.
Even if any individual doesn’t agree with it.
Even if any individual had “different expectations” for this person.
Even if it doesn’t run in the family.
Even if (fill in the blank!)
You don’t get to tell them what’s their truth.
No one would voluntarily CHOOSE this live the hell given to those in the LGBTQA+ community.
So.. for all of you who are out 🏳🌈 I’m proud of you! Live your life in love of all color! If you’re not out yet, that’s ok too. That doesn’t make you any less spectacular!
If you never come out, that’s up to you.
Whatever the case, you are and always will have opened arms with me. You’ll always be loved.
With Love & Light,
