Good morning, afternoon, evening, & tomorrow lovely people❄️
Today, I’m giving thanks for hugs!

This past week, as I wrote dozens of Christmas cards, I made sure virtual hugs were tucked into each one. I think, human contact is necessary for survival.
Unfortunately, we grow distant from one another as soon as we get hurt. Whether it’s to protect ourselves or to walk in ” safe zones”, many of us instantly put space between us and the source.
That lonely space becomes grey. It becomes quietly loud. It becomes numb. It becomes dangerous.
I know myself this, as soon as someone touches me, embraces me, I unravel. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve received a hug and started crying!
Adam was created. Eve was, then, created. We aren’t meant to be physically and emotionally disconnected. Now, right now, with Covid, if you need social distance, give those hugs in other ways.
Hugs are an act of love. I’m so grateful for the times when I felt the love of embrace.

Still trying to catch up, I’d like to give thanks lessons taught by life. It is these moments of learning and self parenting that, I think, give us the most wisdom and allow us to live our lives differently, better…

I love the term you used, self parenting. That speaks volumes about your self discipline.
