Little Update

Hey everyone:

I don’t have a picture or wisdom, any creativity to share. I read on another blogger’s post, pictures creates a lack of interest from other readers. That was a bit discouraging.

I also had another run-in with some young boys who couldn’t act their age. They thought setting a fire in a community park trash can was something acceptable. When I confronted them, it became “ Karen” this and “ Karen” that.

Additionally, I’ve decided to listen to my intuition and recoil back into the privacy of my life. Something right now is asking me to focus on my home and time with my kids. It might be that school will be starting soon. It might be that I’ve reached a dry spell, where I feel overlooked and glanced over in the blogosphere… as if my content is annoying or repetitious, bossy? I don’t know.

Anyway, I’m here… every once in a while. For now.

Love,

Nova

  1. Bloggers are upset about the block editor and some are leaving WP or taking a break. My traffic has slowed too. I read we’re supposed to include at least one picture in a post! Anyway, hope to see you around when you’re in the mood 🙂❤️

  2. I’m not sure which blogger said not to use pictures but I completely disagree with them. Pictures make blog posts more interesting. What I see so many bloggers do is use free images, which I see repeats of all the time. It catches my attention when bloggers use their own images! Also, captions/titles with no content I usually skim over on WP. I feel like FB is a better platform for short posts/status updates.

If you feel like there is a lack of engagement, try writing longer posts and write from the heart. Writing for the sake of writing will lead to burnout. I write for an audience rather than for myself. If I wrote for myself I would write in a journal or diary. The biggest joy I get from blogging is connecting with like-minded readers and having conversations with them! 😊💕

  3. I’m sorry you’re feeling overlooked on here, Nova. That feeling is understandable. I honestly think with this virus and everyone being at home, things have slowed down a bit for the internet. It’s up and booming one minute, down and lifeless the next. I’m sure it’s just the timing of things and nothing personal. As for your posts, they are always upbeat and inspiring. I’ve never seen them as anything negative. And my thoughts on pictures… Do what you want! If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. Apparently people are loving the images you share, so keep it up. Hope you’ll feel better soon and get your creative mojo back. ((BIG HUGS HERE)) 🤗💞

      1. Hey, Nova! I haven’t been on my blog for over a month. I needed to break away to deal with some personal issues, so I went private so I wouldn’t have to worry about blog stuff for a bit. You didn’t do anything wrong at all! So, please, do not worry about that! All is fine and I’m just trying to figure out what I am going to do with this blog and the future of it. I hope you’ve been well, my dear friend. Thank you for reaching out! xx 🙂♥️

  4. I’m doing this blog for me. It’s nice if people read but its an outlet. Your blog is perfect just the way it is. Your content is perfect. Boys will be boys…..I don’t know when Karen became something lame but I personally like the name. I look forward to your future content…. whenever it may come (=

    1. Karen is the reference to white women making unnecessary fuss about Black individuals… sometimes, these women create drama stemmed from white privilege.
