I always tell my friends “I run on prayer!”. Every aspect of my life is a wild story that leaves people in awe. I know that prayer has been my saving grace… and it’s my Faith in the miracle of prayers that’s allowed me to accomplish what I have thus far in life.
As I’ve gotten older, I’ve also become more direct in conversation. Clear and effective communication eliminates opportunity for miscommunication.
What I’ve learned is that no one should be more to me than I am to myself. If I won’t quit a bad habit, why should anyone else hold that responsibility? If I want to finish my BA, I’m the only person who’s going to actually put the plan in motion.
Some of you might be like me, and don’t have any support system close. Aunts, sisters, cousins, parents might live hours, or states away. It’s tough!! I get it! I’m there.
Others of you are lucky to have that team sitting on the sidelines, cheering you on. That’s awesome, too!! I’m genuinely happy you are blessed with that life.
Untimely, as an adult… the goal is for each of us to be our own advocates! We do what’s necessary to take care of ourselves… FIRST!
If you’re on the “ but I’m a mom and I put my kids first.” Train…. consider who you are to them if you’re not well.
So, how do you do this? How do you show up and be here for you:
And set boundaries:D !
