I enjoy moments full of sensory enrichment! For Summer, such moments could be the sound of a lawnmower, the nighttime crickets, and the thunderstorms before a cool front. It might be the sights of busy beaches, lots of sunglasses, and fireworks. I love the smell of charcoal grilled hot dogs, the fresh cut grass, peaches, sunscreen, and the air after a rain. I love the juicy watermelon that summer invites, and the suntea that nature heats up. I love corn on the cob, fireflies, seven 0 clock car rides, and cool sheets after a hot day out.
There’s depth to life once we become mindful of it. I’m trying to practice being in the now.
“It is not the the bruises on the body that hurt. It is the wounds of the heart and the scars on the mind.”
