1. I agree. I am in A.A. and my sobriety, and serenity, are precious to me. However, there are some things worth fighting for, even if I’m nuts. Racial injustice and gun control come to mind. In A.A., we are taught to accept the problems of life but to have the courage to change them if we can. We need the wisdom to know the difference. I should march in an antigun parade, even if I’m mentally ill. You argue our greatest battles are with ourselves. That might be true. There are some things worth getting involved in, come what may. We are mentally ill, not cowards.

    1. Oh I most certainly agree, there’s a time to stand and fight. I’m referencing the moments when the battles aren’t necessary here 🙂
