Elsa’s Courage

It’s funny how some distance makes everything seem small
And the fears that once controlled me can’t get to me at all
It’s time to see what I can do
To test the limits and break through
No right, no wrong, no rules for me
I’m free

Let it go, let it go
I am one with the wind and sky
Let it go, let it go
You’ll never see me cry
Here I stand and here I stay
Let the storm rage on

My power flurries through the air into the ground
My soul is spiraling in frozen fractals all around
And one thought crystallizes like an icy blast
I’m never going back, the past is in the past

Leit go
The cold never bothered me anyway

Let it go, let it go
And I’ll rise like the break of dawn
Let it go, let it go
That perfect girl is gone
Here I stand in the light of day
Let the storm rage on

Another song about identifying oneself. The perfect girl is gone, test the limits and break through. It’s such a great song!

  1. I have a weakness for chick flicks. Hunger Games and Captain Marvel come to mind. I had a strong mother. She was not a feminist. She did not have to be. I have a weakness, too, for young girls walking alone. I admire their courage. I like the sculpture Defiant Girl on Wall Street. I like Sally Ride, the first American woman in space, who refused the feminist label. I even like Billie Jean King for being a forerunner of the feminist movement. I had a feminist girlfriend whom I loved and still do. I like nice, dirty girls who don’t fit the feminist mold. I like Golda Maier and Margaret Fletcher who can handle any man in town. Feminists are a pain in the ass.

  2. I’ve never seen this movie. (Don’t shoot!) but I’ve read little Frozen books to my nieces and listened to them sing the song so many times it’s part of who I am now—or trying to be. 😊

    Great theme.

  3. My daughter and I have recently started adoring this movie. I really like in the Demi Lovato version when she says “I know I left a life behind but I’m too relieved to grieve.” It’s super relatable right now.
